My Reason
My passion for supporting young women on their journey to independence comes from my own lived experience.
At 17 years old, while still in high school, I became a mother. Shortly afterward, I found myself without stable housing and living in a shelter for young mothers. I was raising a child while trying to finish school and build a future, all at an age when most of my peers were still figuring out who they wanted to become.
Those experiences taught me lessons that no classroom could. I learned resilience, responsibility, and the importance of having people who believe in your potential even when your circumstances suggest otherwise.
After graduating high school, I earned my cosmetology license and entered the workforce. As my family grew, I continued searching for opportunities that would provide stability and a path toward long-term success. I worked in corporate environments, pursued higher education while raising my children, and continually sought ways to improve the systems around me.
I now stand before you as a homeowner, founding member, and executive director of a statewide organization living a life of purpose.

Throughout my life, one theme has remained constant: I have always been drawn to helping people navigate systems that were not built with them in mind. Whether advocating for my own children, supporting coworkers facing inequities, or leading community-based efforts focused on social justice and opportunity, I found myself returning to the same mission... helping people access the support, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive.
What makes this work personal for me is that I understand what it feels like to stand at the edge of adulthood without a clear roadmap. I know the fear that comes with instability. I know the pressure of making adult decisions before you feel ready. And I know how life-changing it can be when someone provides not just housing, but guidance, encouragement, accountability, and hope.
I have had an exciting journey into transformational leadership by helping others thrive. My goal with Sacred Living Space is to create the kind of environment I once needed myself: a safe and supportive community where young women can find stability, build confidence, develop life skills, and prepare for independent living.
I am not interested in simply providing a bed for young women. I want to help them build a foundation for the rest of their lives.
My story is proof that difficult beginnings do not determine a person's future. With support, opportunity, and determination, young women can overcome extraordinary challenges and create lives filled with purpose, dignity, and success. My commitment is to help them believe that and to walk alongside them as they make it a reality.
